By now you’re aware that I love a good dose of skincare, but I’ve noticed lately that I am keeping my products to a minimum for the sake of my skin. Undergoing diet changes, as well as one massive stressful week (the worst, I tell you) had my skin at level meltdown. So I stripped it right back, focused on keeping it healthy.
I start my day with The Body Shop’s Seaweed Cleanser. You’ve all seen this here before, if you’ve been around long enough. This keeps oils at bay and is very gentle, but tough on makeup- so I use this when I return from work too.
The second product in my day and night skincare routine (and Matty’s too) is the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions. I don’t have particular trouble with blemishes (other than the odd hormonal and stress related one) but I like to keep them well away. This toner does not contain alcohol, is allergy tested and 100% fragrance free. It has salicylic acid and witch hazel which really helps with my skin clarity, it also removes a lot of excess dirt that my cleanser didn’t. I’ve been enjoying having this in my routine.
Once or twice a week I will use the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (NZ represent- of course, had to.) This is more of a relaxation thing, something about this mask is so comforting, but it also does wonders to the softness and glow of my skin.
Before I moisturise I pop tea tree oil on any spots I may have, as I mentioned last week was a stressful one.
For my moisturiser I use the Clinique moisture surge intense skin fortifying hydrator both morning and night (you can find its own review here, posted last January after it for Christmas!), which has obviously lasted. It leaves my skin moisturised and glowy- no problems there!
Lastly I follow everything up with my beloved Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub- I get dry lips at work and I find this great weather your lips are dry or not- its the perfect primer before lipstick.
I hope you enjoyed this post- I’ve loved discussing my most recent skincare routine with you all!
