SAVE WITH JAMIE

I suppose you can guess what I am talking about, if you don’t I will hide the fact that I am a little worried I’ll come off a bit obsessed. I was very fortunate to have been granted a discount on the ‘Save with Jamie- Jamie Oliver Cookbook’ through the book lady at work (when I say book lady, I mean the lady that delivers the boxes of books that are on sale to my workplace).

I was able to purchase the Jamie Oliver cookbook for just under half price- which is a big thing for me. For some reason I cannot justify spending $65 on a cookbook for myself when I am able to get recipes online. For me having a cookbook that is brand spanking new and not fobbed off to me by my mother is a big deal, especially when it is Jamie Oliver. It is a great novelty.

I am such a Jamie Oliver fan, I have subscribed to his app and use it in cooking regularly, not to mention fawning over the cookbooks that I not-so-subtly hint to Matthew to get me for one of the many gift giving days in our life (which of course flies straight over his head- I have been eyeing up 15 minute meals for over a year now)

And so I am finally a proud owner of a Jamie Oliver cookbook.

The reason why I had to grab this when I had the chance is, not only because all the recipes contained are pocket friendly, but also because in his introduction he states that this cookbook is aimed at healthier meals- which I absolutely love. Jamie has also gone into detail by adding bonus recipes which are a real treat.

Not only is the book itself wonderfully presented and organised but the recipes are ones where you can easily get your fingers on the ingredients in NZ. I love to see this sitting on my shelf and I have been reading through the new pages during my breaks since I got it.

But without further ado, I’ll give you a taste of this beauty.

What I also love about this cookbook is Jamie not only includes recipes and handy hints into his book, but also goes to the liberty and explains what he himself stocks his pantry, fridge and freezer with. This information is very useful if you are like me and need a guide on healthier living and advice on what to and what not to incorporate into your fridge, freezer and store cupboard.

Well done Jamie- I love this book to bits already. So so handy.

  • I got this book for Christmas and so far have made the grated rainbow salad with sesame feta fritters and the chicken and spinach cannelloni. I’d recommend both.

    • Thanks, I haven’t tried those yet, I’ll make sure to give them a go!
