A little over a week ago a pretty little package arrived on my doorstep, containing the little gem that I have been wanting for some time.
Despite trying Sheer Matte when ambermariemarie first came about I never managed to wrap my little hands around this cult classic, not because it was impossible from New Zealand, but because of all the other recommended foundations that were easier to obtain- but alas, it is finally part of my collection.
I purchased Nars Sheer Glow in the shade Deauville after much deliberation, it took me forever to choose which shade would work best in my favor. Mont Blanc was a little to pink and pasty for my complexion in the Sheer Matte so I decided to go for a neutral balance of pink and yellow undertones in the sheer glow, which was extremely hard to choose online, mind you- I wanted to choose a balance of pink and yellow as I tend to have a olive tinge to my fair skin, but my face also reddens extremely fast, so far this decision has proved me well. I ended up going for the lighter one as it is coming into winter here and I am sure glad that I did!
This foundation turned out to be a lot less “Glowy” than I anticipated, although after a few hours due to my natural oils it does light up, and although I would love it to be more luminous it is a small issue, it’s nothing that can’t be fixed by some Illuminator (which also happens to be one of my long-time wants)
I decided to choose this over the new Nars Foundation as it was easier to get the right shade, and also I am always for a classic, Im sure the All Day Luminous Foundation isn’t going anywhere too soon.
The coverage is sheer enough and natural, but also build-able which sits quite well with me, and the lasting power is incredible. I apply this with the Zoeva 102 Silk Finish Brush, which leaves a balance of natural and flawless finish.
Overall I am very happy with this product, it definitely is one of the products that really hits the mark with the hype and I am sure that, like many other beauty bloggers, this foundation will become a “often reached-for” staple in my makeup stash.
Have you tried the Nars Sheer Glow? What are your thoughts?
