June Favourites

IMGP0005 copy

Hey guys,

I thought I would run with the whole favourites thing, and I seem to have a few this month, there may be a slight theme here as a majority of then seem to be rather pink.

I’ll stress to you how odd this is, as I have never really liked pink before the last few months, and now I seem to be drawn to it. Growing up I always gravitated towards greens and always eggshell blues, the light feminine kind, and although I still adore eggshell blues and browns/greys for the home I have been mixing greys, browns and pinks for make up, beauty products and clothes and love every bit of it, so please excuse the obvious theme in this post!

I’ll start off my June Favourites with the little body products I have here:

SUGARBABY SUNTANNED SWEETIES GRADUAL TAN MOISTURISER

Here in New Zealand it is hard to get hold of the tanning products I would prefer, such as St Tropez, although they will eventually get here I’m sure. Since it is coming into winter and the cold is setting in, I lose all the colour I have. I am not tanned in the slightest, my skin doesn’t really like to tan that much and I have a cool skin tone, so achieving a golden glow is very hard. I have never been into tanning, but since I have got into gradual tans I have found it does give me a small sense of confidence about the way I look. It started off with using a gradual tan by Dove my mother had taken on holiday as a moisturiser and I have since found this one here, by SugarBaby. This gives great colour and introduces tanning slowly into your routine, it smells pretty good and sinks in quite fast. I have been using this after showering and it builds nicely, and so the love of tanning begins.

THE BODY SHOP WILD ROSE HAND CREAM

This does say it is supposed to be for mature skin, but I rather like it. Im not a fan of the smell of roses, and this one takes a fair bit of getting used to, but it does the job well. I really notice a difference in my nails and hands after using this, they are softer and the skin looks really healthy, and nails stronger and longer.

THE AROMATHERAPY CO. THERAPY RANGE CUTICLE OIL

This is a miracle worker. I have very weak, brittle nails and using this twice a day for a few days on end makes them strong and long. This stuff works.

Now for the beauty items, I have a few make up and nail varnishes:

ESSIE NAIL POLISHES IN ETERNAL OPTIMIST AND LADY LIKE

These colours have been a godsend, and I am looking for more, but I love love love these colours. Like I said I have a cool, pale skin tone and these colours compliment it so well. They are gorgeous and easily pair with my clothing. I get so many compliments on these colours both and work and around town. In love! I have been on a bit of an Essie frenzy lately and I know I purchase similar colours in different shades, but I do love this range. Next on my list is glamour purse, I am really loving the dusty, muted rose pastel colours this season! I always top these with my no chips ahead nail topcoat by Essie.

NATIO LIPSTICK IN EDEN

This came as a complete surprise to me, as it was a gift from either my mother or a gift bag. I tried this on and was completely amazed to find it was not only a gorgeous colour but also a extremely smooth, moisturising, long-lasting formula. I have been reaching for this daily and still love it. I love the fact that it is a dusty pink with a VERY slight cool lilac tone through it. It seems to suit me better than the warmer pinks.

L’OREAL PARIS COLOR RICHE LESMOKY PENCIL EYELINER/SMUDGER IN #204 BROWN FUSION

I got this quite recently and have been enjoying it tremendously. I had been using the L’oreal super liner in black but lately I have been finding it quite harsh color-wise. This is still a dark brown, but it is easily dulled down with the smudge end. This enables me to create a much more natural look, and I can easily use this everyday. I also find there is something extremely luxurious about the packaging which is hard to come by with pencil liners!

NAKED 2 PALETTE

I came back to this one, I have had it for quite some time, but with the cooler weather comes the want to introduce the darker colours again. I have especially been loving ‘tease’, ‘YDK’ and ‘Busted’, as always. I forgot how much of a lovely palette this is- and this is the only one in the line I own, but am definitely lusting after the others once again!

ESTEE LAUDER PURE COLOUR PALETTE IN RAISINS

A while ago I literally hunted this palette down. I am one of those weird people that thinks of something I want in a spur of a moment, in this case I wanted a mature, pink toned eyeshadow that I could wear daily in summer- I found this on the Estee Lauder website, and decide I need it and hunt that thing down. I hunted through Farmers stores until I finally found it, actually a store an hour and a half from where I live. This palette has not disappointed either, I got what I wanted and more with the darker plum tone which I have been using a lot in the cold season, its gorgeous and the quality is fantastic.

Well that is it for my favourites this month! I hope you have enjoyed today, it has been a hefty favourites but I always enjoy reading these posts from people, let me know if you favour any of these products or intend to try! Xxx Ambermarie.
