I miss Hamilton, I really really do. I get over it and then I go back and start missing it all over again. Here where I live its pretty- there’s lakes, forests, rivers and adventure galore and I have learned to love it, to crave the outdoors. Over the past year alone I have relished in the fact that a mountain bike ride, forest walk, lake swim or outdoor BBQ are only moments away, but when I return home to Hamilton I am reminded that I am a city girl at heart. I love the businesses, the lights, the coffee shops, art galleries and most of all the shopping, oh, the shopping! It makes me wonder, is the grass greener?
Hamilton is definitely not New Zealand’s biggest shopping city- I’ll give you that, but I love it. Coming from Rotorua town- Hamilton is all class. I love the gorgeous cafe’s, favourite brands like MAC, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Dior and Estée Lauder are all in one place, not to mention a Lush and sweet little boutique stores everywhere.
I miss the feminine stores we lack here, the clean and crispness of it all. I guess it all ties together with the fact that I’m always on Holiday when I visit- but no matter how much I try I cannot get Matthew over there- heres to greener grass and thanking every molecule there is that its only an hour and a bit away.
Getting back on track I’m going to share a few snaps of my visit back home to Hamilton with my dad, step mother and little sister. Four days and I was in heaven. These were taken at a lovely lunch to Theobroma– a chocolate lounge. The day was drizzly and sunny at the same time, there was hardly anyone about and we had a ball.
I loved this post, and it was such a beautiful day, I hope you enjoyed and tell me- what is your favourite place to go? Is the grass greener?
