gluten free breakfast smoothie

Ive been having smoothies everyday for breakfast lately, I have an early lunch at work and I need something that is quick, nutritious and on the go to kickstart my day. Smoothies are the perfect answer.

I am not a big breakfast person, since being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease breakfast for me became simple and stripped of all the extras that I used to have as my go-to meal. Now fruit and veg is as simple, delicious and nutritious as it gets.

Bear in mind that I am still trying to formulate the perfect breakfast smoothie for my new lifestyle change, and they change according to my taste that morning- but here is the one I go back to.

gluten free smoothie


2 Handfuls of spinach
1/2 Cup of frozen raspberries
1 Small handful of fresh mint leaves
1 Banana
1 TBSP Chia Seeds
1 TBSP Maca Powder
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk

Depending on how hungry or how active I am that day I may add 1 Scoop of Clean Lean Protein or 1/4 pineapple.

I am still going through big lifestyle changes as I was only diagnosed a week ago, and going gluten free has been an ongoing thing for my anyway, however, now I must look at the little things I put into my food- making it sometimes difficult. Eating fresh and organic is the simplest way for me to combat gluten, and it is something I am very passionate about.
