My family are a fishing family, and take an annual family trip to a place in New Zealand called Coromandel where the boys fish, the girls drink wine and we have a ball. This year we stayed in a place called Te Kouma Cottages and I managed to get time off.
Matthew and I were film buffs and decided to capture some of what we did. The weather started off pretty drab but it turned out to be a stellar trip away. The weather was hot, wine was had and we played plenty of cards (there was no cellphone reception what.so.ever) It turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
The views are always gorgeous in Coromandel, but they looked a lot more beautiful this time around. I’m not sure if it is because I’m an old lady now or that I am much more observant and in awe of New Zealand- but I loved this trip.
Aside from my cold waking me up at 5.30 every morning, a minor coeliac relapse and my first wasp sting on my foot (thanks planet- that hurt way more than it should) I had a grand five days away with my family. I even caught a fish and we ate it for dinner- its the small wins. I can’t wait to do it again. We even made you guys a couple small movies (with footage by my Matthew himself- like, share and subscribe to my talented manchild here). I hope you enjoyed seeing a bit more of my home country and family!
